Hello groovy person! After a brief hiatus, we're back and ready to bring you some of the best new dance music out there. Red hot off the recent presses come Dennis Ferrer, Brooklyn Friends, Tiger Stripes, Steal Vybe, and more steamy jams to make it the dancin' good Summer of '06. Read on and have a listen! You may notice a few of these singles have revised release dates, which were due to previous manufacturing issues, but tunes so hot, they simply couldn't be overlooked. Thanks as always for your continued support & see you again in the Fall! |

*FEATURE KING STREET CUT!* Having been in the Top 10 slot on Traxsource.com for the past month (2 weeks at #1), this baby is already being played on the best soulful or otherwise mixshows on the web as well as terrestrial radio. HouseFM.net, UDM, Aaron Ross' Soulful Sounds on BBC 1Xtra, Deli G's The Touch, Kev Hill (Ministry of Sound) Solar Radio, plus!
Presenting the latest episode in the super hot, mega- deep house producer Dennis Ferrer saga that's not only doing its job but making us salivate for more. “Underground is My Home” is purely deep as deep can get; With its perfect 126 BPM and the sickest, most profound bassline in contemporary deep house. Just when you thought you’ve arrived (in Heaven or the Underground), the masterful vocal preachings of Tyrone Ellis come in to welcome and assure you that you’ve arrived at the right place. Stemming from his forthcoming full- length album, The World As I See It, this is another gem in the crown jewel that is Dennis Ferrer’s musical production. It's hard to keep a good record down in the underground, but as we like to say, the more people hear good music, the better it gets. Keep it deep, kids. Keep it real deep. (& keep it on 45 RPM if you snag the vinyl).

*FEATURE NITE GROOVES CUT!* Grammy Award winning Producer David Morales' Brooklyn Friends moniker has re-awakened from its mid-1990's slumber, and needless to say, is again making some definite big noize on worldwide dancefloors. We're talking about a full on rhythmic instrumental with a thumping 4/4 bass drum starter, kick-ass Latin-styled timbales, Maraca shakes, and intermittent synth jabs to rough up the ride. This is your basic thump track that’s perfect enough to inject a vocal sample or to Play around with. Pun definitely intended!

Swedish producer team Tiger Stripes sure come through with this solid new pumpin’ EP. “What Was” is a cinematic pure digital boogie with classic 4/4 beats, partial builds and synth jabs that’s sure to drive your dance floor mad. What a bassline! Kerri’s “Bar A Thym” would probably fit well into this one, but that’s your job. “Khula” is up next starting off deep & synthy giving us some more dance floor drama but a bit toned down. Still packs a nice pump though! Rounding this EP off very nicely is “People I Know”, with its classic repetitive chords and intermittent vocal samples. There’s so much more to this record that words cannot describe. One just needs to listen and move.

Another smooth ditty from the Steal Vybe camp hits the Shelter after-hours scene. Whatever trip you happen to be on when this space-y, reverb-y flowing melodic beauty hits your ears will get the blood of the soul pumping. Stephanie Renée’s classic and clear lady vocals bring a wonderful nurturing feel to the record, completely comforting the listener on the dance floor. The beautiful production stands out on the flipside instrumental of the vinyl, as does Stephanie’s vocals that follow on the Reprise Acapella. Feel the warmth.

Hot on the heels of the recently released “I Believe” EP, two more intensely deep & rhythmic rides from newly-signed Nite Grooves artist, Sunshine Jones (formerly of Dubtribe Sound System), grace this follow-up release. “We Are Free”, on the A Side, is a straight out 10 minute plus profound & trippy instrumental that’s sure to liberate the dance floor. On the flipside, we have “Distant Vision”. This almost-nine-minute ride is pure bliss and so lush, it’s absolute proof that beauty lies in simplicity. Light piano keys & chords gently caress the rolling bass line, almost massaging the listener as he sways through the head-nodding journey. Then the 4/4 beat kicks in along with dreamy vocals for a happy ending. Ride Captain, Ride!

Thick, deep beats and a funkified bass line are just a couple of parts to Frankie Feliciano’s re-interpretation of this Lil’ Louis King Street classic. He retains all of the record’s soul while bumping it up a bit adding a deeper, more uptempo feel. Championed recently by such DJs Phil Hooten, Aaron Ross, and Frankie himself (among others) at this year’s Southport Weekender festival in the UK, the buzz is out and is sure to cross over continents as djs continue to play it. Fortifying this re-release are none other than Louie Vega & Kenny Dope (MAW) who grace us with more of the original- sounding Unreleased Pass & Flute Instrumental. What an incredible tune with an incredible set of remixes.
