Brooklyn, NY native, Louie 'Lou' Gorbea began his career in the music industry as a dancer, performing with such internationally renowned companies as American Ballet Theater and Alvin Ailey Dance Company.  His passion for music inspired him to produce the music for his shows.

Lou's style of playing music opened the door to appear at many underground music parties.  Lou was flown to Italy for a soulful dance party called, "Fly-Away". He was featured at "IL Ciclope" in Marina de Camerota (SA) to entertain thousands of music lovers.  During the year, he made radio broadcast appearances on, The Candy Store, WNYU, 89.1 FM and Deeper Than Disco, WHCR, 90.3 FM. The summer wouldn't have been complete in the House music community without Lou sharing his talents at the May The Music Be With You boat ride.

Lou and Promotional Manager, Kat Ayala created and introduced Ashé to the music community in 2002. Lou landed weekly residencies for the Ashé parties at two NYC nightclubs.  Ashé featured guest DJ's of world renown, such as Louie Vega, David DePino, T.O. Sweet, Steve Trevolta, Frankie Feliciano, JoVonn, Ron Trent and Adam Cruz.  Due to Lou's music selection and the Ashé vibe, he and the Ashé party was featured in a European magazine called, "Vibrations" in the winter of 2002.

Lou's gift of playing music had openly expanded in the music industry in 2003. He's featured regularly at John 'Jellybean' Benitez's 'Ain't Nuthin' But A House Party'. Lou has made guest appearances at the worlds famous 'Copacabana', The Duplexx, 'Mixtape Sessions', and Kris Flower's (Yellorange) 'Think Soul' parties. Lou received outstanding reviews for his second international guest appearance at IL Ciclope in Italy. Shortly after returning from overseas, Ashé in association with Louie Vega's Dance Ritual joined forces. The Elements of Life album on Vega Records was introduced at an Ashè/Dance Ritual boat ride. Gorbea and Vega worked the decks like no other !  Accompanied by The House of Rhumba, Albert Menendez (Sterling Productions), and soulful vocalist/artist, Michelle Weeks. The summer finale was ended with another successful music boat ride called, Dancing On Water.  Again Gorbea and Vega entertained the house music community along with live performances by Sarah Divine (Sony Recordings) and guitarist Mike Ciro. In September, Lou along with John Jellybean' Benitez, Frankie Feliciano and keyboard player, Albert Menendez introduced a first time soulful house music party at Krash Discotheque. During the fall, Ashé held a week-end special event called, City, Country City at a resort in the Pocono Mountains, PA. Lou was featured with Victor Rosado and Producer Kevin Hedge (West End Records/Blaze) for a two night house music dance party.  

Recently Lou has made a network broadcast appearance at Downshiftradio.com which promotes NYC's best international DJ's from all around the world. Lou was featured at Jellybean Soul’s 2004 Winter Music Conference party this past March and also featured at a House & Classic party with Victor Rosado. At the present time, Lou remains playing at Jellybean Benitez's, Ain’t Nuthin’ But A House Party and making many guest appearances in between his busy schedule. Lou is producing music in his New Jersey studio. He has accomplished two original tracks ("Elegua" and "Ashé) which will be soon released. Lou states, he enjoys playing and making music and looks forward to continue sharing with all music lovers around the world.
