Clasics: Azymuth – Jazz Carnival (Milestone)
What a better start to celebrate the arrival of the new year than the ever boiing ‘Jazz Carnival’?!? Meanwhile bringin’ us to pay our props to this Brazilian Jazz/Funk trio who originally saw the light back in 1972 as Grupo Seleçào.
We catch them back on what stands as one of their biggest classics ever, from their 1979 ‘Light As A Feather’ album.
As a matter of fact ‘Jazz Carnival’ is just a title that speaks for itself. Comin’ up as an explosion of synth parts courtesy of Ivan Conte over sparkling percussion by the likes of the late Jose Roberto Bertrami.
When Jazz and Funk do the Samba. Let the rhythm and the Champagne flow… Happy 2015, everybody!
