Eloni Yawn – No Excuses (Reel People Rework)

Single Of The Week: Eloni Yawn feat. Paris Toon & Mothers Favorite Child – No Excuses (Reel People Rework) (Reel People Music)

Don’t you even dare tellin’ me we didn’t tell you. As you would be left with no excuses at the end. Don’t you even dare telling me we haven’t warned you. ‘No Excuses’ has the caliber of the First League gems. Hence its presentation as our Single Of The Week. As a matter of fact, there’s an I don’t know why reminding something of Odyssey‘s classic ‘Inside Out’. Is this coming from the vocal arrangements? Could it be the firing rhythm pattern (although kinda faster) around its intoxicating bassline? Maybe both of them at the end. Meanwhile I can’t help myself neither thinkin’ of a bunch of cuts by the likes of Chaka Khan for some extra reason.

‘No Excuses’ is a bumpin’ monsterjam. And, in the meantime a pretty much encouraging collab between Rochester, NY-born singer Eloni Yawn and R&B/Hip-Hop producer Paris Toon standing as the driving force of MFC.

Originally released last January on Top Notch/Universal, Reel People delicately expand its emphasis. Therefore pushing the original feeling to the next level over a slammin’ drum part.

For Eloni Yawn, writing and recording music was never an option. It was a definite goal in life. Growing up in a musical household, the Rochester, NY, native constantly managed to perform dance routines and sing her favorite songs for relatives and friends. With her chilhood
musical influences containing the likes of Sarah Vaughan, Whitney Houston, Cory Daye and Etta James. Meanwhile Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu and Marsha Ambrosius are the female vocalists who’ve inspired her style.

Back in 2009, Yawn was among the top 150 contestants who made it to Hollywood Week in American Idol (season 8). Unsurprisingly, the show happened to provide her with a mass audience to display her skills as a seasoned vocalist. In addition to this, Eloni has performed on many stages. From the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, AZ. To The Auditorium in Rochester, NY, where she shared the bill with Funk legends such as the Dazz Band and Con Funk Shun. Not to mention Mary Jane Girls and the Ohio Players. This with numerous other venues.

All in all, Eloni’s voice can be described as smooth and mellow peppered with an almost inherent intensity that definitely grabs and holds the attention. As many qualities which have allowed her to work with and write for various artists and producers in the entertainment industry. Beginning with Che Vicious (co-producer for Dr. Dre). But also 50 Cent, Chris Notez and The Raskal among others.
As a matter of fact, Eloni‘s voice captures the hearts and serenade any scene or demographic. “My top priority is to give back to the listeners, which is quality music without boundaries”, she says. “Keeping my lyrics positive and empowering the youth, young women and men and inspiring others to be who they want to be is my mission.”

Eloni’s humble attitude and outgoing nature are to bring her many more rewarding experiences to come. Like the firing ‘No Excuses’ for instance. Itself a blowing jam that has seen her sharing the bill with Paris Toon and Mothers Favorite Child. This before receiving the remixing treatment courtesy of Reel People. Then an official release during the Summer of 2015 on their Reel People Music label. And, last but not least, a nomination as a Single Of The Week here on Indamixworldwide.

Giving back to the community and sharing what she has learned with others, is of upmost importance to her. “If I could do anything at all before my time is up, knowing that I may have made a small difference in someone’s life for the better through song, I will know that I have completed my purpose on Earth.”
