Sounds Of Blackness and Jasper Street Company have at least one thing in common. Their obvious inclination to Gospel vibes, although the first most likely made themselves a name in the R&B circuit. Meanwhile the latter made themselves a reputation in the House scene.

Jasper Street Company saw the light in Baltimore, MD back in the second half of the 90’s. A multifaceted group, their line-up varied from a release to another. Welcoming members such as Tracy Hamlin, Vonita White or Wondress Hutchinson among others. Not to mention current Quantize Records label head DJ Spen.

Among their biggest classics to date, ‘Solid Ground’, ‘God Helps Those (Who Help Themselves)’ and ‘Lift Every Voice (Take Me Away)’ to name a few. But also ‘A Feelin / You Gave Me Love’ along with Kenny Bobien. And, more recently, ‘Reach’.

Jasper Street Company have released 2 albums. ‘In A Spensane World’ back in 1998 and ‘Stand!’ 5 years after, respectively on Basement Boys Records and God’s House.
