Kleeer – Slidin And Glidin (Atlantic)

Lost but not least! Kleeer – Slidin And Glidin (Atlantic)

No video available for this, but instead a player!

. Here we go with no one else but the backing band of NYC Disco producer Patrick Adams, equally known as Universal Robot Band.

Kleeer around their leaders – the charismatic Norman Durham and Woody Cunningham – went on their own way by the end of the 70’s. Eventually recording what stands as their most famous cut back then (‘Keep Your Body Working’).

One of the most infectious Funk bands one might think of… They are also responsible for gems such as ‘Get Tough’ and ‘Taste The Music’. Not to mention ‘Winners’, ‘Get Tough’ and ‘Taste The Music’ among others…

From their 1982 ‘Get Ready’ album, ‘Slidin And Glidin’ is most likely one of the craziest cuts in the whole genre. Gettin’ its particularism from its quite unusual rhythm pattern. Featuring Louis Smalls of The Latinaires fame on piano. But also one half of The System, David Franck on synths.

‘Slidin And Glidin’ never got a single release though. As most definitely away from the usual formats…

What’s the value of your vinyl record?
