Lil’ Louis: I was born House!

Lil' LouisJAZZ
“Jazz has so many different significations”, he continues. “It may follow so many different paths. The so called Kenny G’s New Age Jazz sucks. I’d rather go for Miles or Brandford Marsalis. Acid jazz? Yup! But it’s nothing in comparison with the straight ahead. I think Jazz is too often used for commercial reasons and commercial music, whatever it may be, I forget! I don’t see music and its conception the way people think that’s mine. I’m feeling different in my approaches and I’m proud of this.”

More musicianship, more acoustic, more this, more that to make good music? “Well, Music is not enough to make a good album. You might hear people shouting on most of today’s production. Myself, I need songs, I look for causes that I can justify, I want passion, and passion can be found everywhere. It’s not because you’re coming from a certain universe that you have to reject the talent of people coming from other areas. Good music remains good music, wherever it’s coming from. Myself, I love Rock, Vintage Rock, Jazz, Blues and Soul. I just feel like I have something different to show and it has to be definitely relied with surprise, as without, it everything becomes normal, predictable… accessible to anyone!”

“Whenever I’m spinning, I never know what’s gonna happen nor how… It’s just like love. Would it be that magic if everything was programmed in advance? Do you see yourself telling your girlie to get her legs like this or whatsoever??? There are a lot of things in common between love and music. You find there the same dysfunctions…”

INTERNET
“Just like TV. Another thing which has got many people locked in their homes. It’s against human nature. People hate being left alone and are ready to do everything to escape from that situation. Before the recording of ‘French Kiss’, I’d never stayed on my own more than two days. Then I realized all of a sudden the whole absurdity of this. There was this girl in front of me who I didn’t love and I so much wanted her to leave, which I invited her to do… after the orgasm! That’s how I’ve gone to London for a year, forcing myself to leave alone and I’ve managed to do it. I’ve asked the young lady I left what we were supposed to do after the orgasm, and she’s just been unable to respond me. We’re all looking for that orgasm and then what???”

TIME
“A thing which is absolutely necessary to take for our own self. Kids manage to do it. That’s how I become so fascinated by my daughter back then. She showed me how to love again. She was so innocent. In addition to this, she never tried to rush things. She would see other kids and they would eventually become friends or not.
Whenever I’m spinning, I never know what’s gonna happen nor how… It’s just like love. Would it be that magic if everything was programmed in advance? Do you see yourself telling your girlie to get her leg like this or whatsoever??? There are a lot of things in common between love and music. You find there the same dysfunctions…”
