Masurrati And Huey Harris – Super Duper (Lovin’)

Most Wanted! Masurrati And Huey Harris – Super Duper (Lovin’) (Lioness Records Ltd)

On one of those countless obscure NYC-based labels which appeared during the Disco days. ‘Super Duper (Lovin’) stands as Masurrati & Huey Harris‘s one and only release as a matter of fact.

A cool synth Funk driven swingalong (some call this Boogie!). Its rhythm guitar led intro somehow reminds of Denroy Morgan‘s ‘I’ll Do Anything For You’. Huey Harris enlightening the whole with quite a moody vocal performance. With mixing work courtesy of Dee Allen, DJ Lee and Tony (The Wizard) Barber

Masurrati delivered what finally happened to be their one and only contribution back in 1982.
Unlike their presentation suggests, they were a fortet. Among their members, Danny Harris and Kyle Hicks. But also Suzanne Valentine who collaborated with both George Benson and Raymond Harris (respectively on ‘Shiver’ and Under ‘Your Spell’). And last but not least, Huey Harris, also remembered as a member of Forecast along with Adil Bayyan, Amir Bayyan, Royal Bayyan, Greg Fitz and Armenta.
