Most Wanted! Maurice McGee – Do I Do (Full Time Records)
Bringing us back to the souvenir of a prolific local scene during the Disco Days. And more precisely to Italy where one could find the very best next to the very worst! A scene which, as a result, has generated a lot of mixed reactions, like ‘Hate It or like it!’ But also a lot of followers and eventually bidders, whatever it could be…
American singer Maurice McGee landed in Italy and would find a home there by the likes of Full Time Records. His first attempt, the synth-led ‘Do I Do’ would be the one, somehow reminding of labelmate Vin Zee‘s ‘Funky Be Bop’, although on a more jazzy vein with a stellar production.
Jimmy Ross, Orlando Johnson, Vin Zee, Kano, Firefly, Jago… As many names which contributed to the establishment of Full Time Records and its associated labels into the Italian Dance Music First League back in the first half of the 80’s.
A label formerly known as Goody Music Records, a name used from 1977 until 1982 for titles licensed from the USA.
