Words are missing to describe the state of shock which is ours in front the suddenness of the announcement of the passing of Ethan White… At the news of the passing one of the most attaching faces in the circuit, at such an early age. Ethan White was exuding kindness, always makin’ sure to make himself accessible despite a heavy schedule. Just like his partners in crime together united as Tortured Soul.

A brilliant keyboardist, he started playing piano at the age of 7. He eventually studied Classical Music at first before immersing into Jazz in this teens.
By the end of the 90’s, he was evolving in the boiling Acid-Jazz, jazzy House scene in NYC.
From this, he along with his partners (singer/drummer John-Christian Urich and bassist JKriv) would embody a unique Live feel in the House. Somehow reminding of British acts such as Down To The Bone. Therefore with a high musicianship and a clear sense of the groove…

I remember meeting them a couple of times in Miami. That happened during the Winter Music Conference. There I eventually saw them performing live some 10 years ago at the M3 sessions. They appeared right after opening sets by the likes of Danny Krivit then Kerri Chandler.
Such an elegance they displayed wearing a tie and a white shirt. Not to mention musicwise, building their growing reputation from a year to another. Releasing gems such as ‘I Might Do Something Wrong’, ‘Home To You’, ‘Fall In Love’ and ‘In My Fantasy’ among others…

Ethan is equally remembered for his collabs with DJ Ed Dunn of 3 Degrees under the dunnEASY guise and a few releases under his own name. Be it ‘Find A Way’ along with Lisa Shaw in 2007. As as a featured artist with Marissa Guzman on ‘Energy Flows’ the same year…

Ethan White is survived by a wife and three month old twins, with our first thoughts addressed to them.

Ethan‘s memory lives on through his beautiful family. Your support of Tarrah, Elias, and Pearl are the most practical way you can help during this time. Through this memorial fund, our goal is to raise enough money to provide living expenses for the next year, and to establish a financial cushion. Your love and generosity keep our family going!
