Tennerz: Tracy Brathwaite – Be My Love (Ian Friday Libation Mix) (Honeycomb)
As often, forget about the rating – Soulful House – of this gem, as its more of a commodity. As a matter of fact ‘Be My Love’ goes way beyond, standing as a brilliant recapture of the Soul spirit of the 70’s. Meanwhile Ian Friday brings it into a contemporary environment. Enlightening the whole with an intoxicating synth line around a string of lush keys and chords over a cool minimalistic beat. An environment which therefore leaves the necessary space and contrasts for Tracy Brathwaite‘s emotional interpretation. With intonations somehow reminding of the grat Gladys Knight at moments.
“Be my love…” Kinda hard to resist to this invitation. Don’t you think?

As many cuts which heavily contributed establishing Ian Friday as a driving force to count with. Besides, how to not think of DJ Tikyo feat. Andrea Love‘s ‘Love Will Bring Us Back’. An uplifting and vibrant gem which he transformed into an absolute masterpiece back in 2013. This in addition to more recent gems such as Maritri‘s ‘Angel In Disguise’ or Kenny Bobien‘s ‘Special Day’. But also Tracy Brathwaite‘s ‘Be My Love’. Not to mention Steal Vybe feat. Byron Moore‘s ‘Live Your Life Today’ and Mike City‘s ‘My Weakness’.
